Basic mobile management will be enabled by default for G Suite domains by the end of 2018.

Google is automatically enabling basic mobile management for G Suite domains that have not previously enabled it by the end of 2018. This change requires users on Android and iOS devices to set up a passcode or screen lock before accessing G Suite apps. Admins can control the timing of this rollout by manually enabling basic mobile management (with or without passcode enforcement) or by enabling and then disabling it to prevent the automatic activation.

Warning message for iOS users without Meet enabled

Google Meet will now display a warning message to iOS users whose accounts are not Meet-enabled, explaining that they can only join meetings and cannot create them. This message aims to clarify the missing functionality for non-G Suite users or users in organizational units where Meet is disabled, mirroring a message already available on the web.

Google has added SAML integration for 25 additional third-party applications to the G Suite pre-integrated apps catalog, simplifying the Single-Sign-On (SSO) setup process for admins. The new additions include services such as Adobe Sign, Cisco Umbrella, and Freshservice, allowing users to access these enterprise cloud applications after signing in just once.

Inbox types are now supported in the Gmail app for Android.

Gmail is bringing inbox sorting options—including unread first, important first, starred first, and priority inbox—to the Android app. Users can now sync their web inbox configuration to Android or change the inbox type directly within the Android app settings, which will then reflect across web and iOS platforms.

Google is updating the menus and toolbars in the web versions of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Google is expanding its auto-provisioning capabilities by adding support for four new third-party applications: Kudos, 15Five, Rollbar, and Honey. G Suite Education, Business, and Enterprise customers can enable auto-provisioning for all supported applications, while Basic, Government, and Nonprofit customers can configure it for up to three applications.
