Google Vids makes three features (Read-along teleprompter, Transcript trim, Styled captions) available to all users.

To help more users create professional-quality content, Google Vids is expanding access to three key features for all users, regardless of their Workspace edition. These features include the Read-along teleprompter, which allows users to read from an auto-scrolling script; Transcript trim, for editing videos by deleting words or silences from the transcript; and Styled captions, which offers various visual styles for captions to enhance accessibility and engagement. This change extends these features to users on promotional Workspace editions, Frontline, Education Fundamentals, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google accounts.

Proofread your email with Gemini in Gmail now available to additional Workspace plans.

The Proofread feature, powered by Gemini in Gmail, helps users refine their emails by suggesting improvements beyond basic spelling and grammar, including conciseness, active voice, sentence structure, and word choice. This feature, initially launched for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, is now being extended to additional Workspace plans. Workspace customers will also receive promotional access to higher usage limits, with per-user limits potentially applying afterward.

Gemini expands practice tests to support the JEE Main.

Gemini has expanded its practice test capabilities to include the JEE Main, utilizing rigorously vetted content from leading education companies such as PhysicsWallah and Careers360 to provide a realistic test preparation experience. This feature is currently available in English for all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.

Student groups endpoints are now generally available in the Google Classroom API.

New built-in interoperability between Google Meet and Microsoft Teams hardware.

Google is introducing video conferencing device interoperability for Google Meet with Microsoft Teams. This update allows users to join Microsoft Teams meetings from Chrome OS-based Google Meet hardware devices and join Google Meet meetings from Windows-based Microsoft Teams Rooms devices.

Select Gemini in Workspace capabilities are now available to Education Plus and Teaching & Learning customers, including Gemini in Docs, Slides, Forms, and Vids.

Generative AI capabilities in Google Workspace for Education, specifically Gemini in Docs (Help Me Write, side panel), Gemini in Slides (original images and slides), Gemini in Forms (form creation, AI summaries), and Gemini in Vids (video creation from text prompts or slides), are now available to users 18 and older with a Google Workspace for Education Plus or Teaching and Learning add-on license at no additional cost. These features were already available to other Workspace customers. In the coming months, Gemini in Sheets features and more granular admin controls will also be made available.
