Google introduces AI Expanded Access add-on for higher access to advanced AI capabilities in Workspace.

Google has launched AI Expanded Access, a new Workspace add-on designed to provide increased access to advanced AI features beyond the standard usage limits. This add-on caters to organizations seeking to empower their power users with enhanced capabilities for features such as image generation, video generation, and access to Gemini app, NotebookLM, Workspace Studio, and Speech translation. It is available for Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus plans, offering more choice in scaling AI impact for teams.

Granular OAuth consent screen expanding to published web apps and Google Workspace add-ons.

The granular OAuth consent screen, which allows users to specify individual scopes they wish to authorize for an Apps Script, is now expanding to include published web apps and Google Workspace add-ons. Previously available for the Apps Script IDE and unpublished versions, this enhancement enables users to provide partial OAuth consent when authorizing new applications built on these platforms, and when re-consenting to applications with expired OAuth grants. This provides users with more control over the data access granted to third-party applications.

Introduction of Productivity Planner Gem to streamline work by integrating with Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.

A new pre-made Gem, "Productivity Planner," is introduced to enhance user organization and time management. This Gem efficiently gathers information from Gmail, Calendar, and Drive, providing users with overviews of urgent emails, calendar events, and assisting in prioritizing tasks. It is available for Google Workspace Business Plus, Standard, Enterprise Plus, Standard, Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Business, and Google AI Ultra for Business customers, provided Google Workspace Apps are enabled.

Developers can now add client-side form field validation to Google Workspace add-ons and Google Chat app cards.

Google Workspace add-ons and Chat app developers can now implement client-side input validation to improve data accuracy and user experience. The card UI now supports required form field validation for date-time pickers, multi-select menus, drop-down menus, and text input widgets via the Action API. Additionally, the Validation API now allows for input type, format, and length limit validation for text inputs, supporting types such as text, integers, decimals, email, and emoji.

G Suite Add-ons now generally available in Calendar, Gmail, and Google Drive
