Gemini app now allows users to generate slide presentations from text prompts or uploaded sources, which can then be exported to Google Slides.

The Gemini app is introducing a new feature that enables users to create slide presentations through its Canvas tool. Users can provide a text prompt or upload a source document, and Gemini will generate a presentation complete with a theme and relevant images. Once generated, these presentations can be exported directly to Google Slides for further refinement and collaboration. This feature is designed to assist professionals, educators, students, and non-profits in quickly drafting presentations for various purposes, such as pitch decks, lesson plans, project outlines, or board meeting summaries.

Improved LaTeX rendering and PDF export capabilities are now available in the Gemini app.

The Gemini app now includes enhanced LaTeX rendering and PDF export functionalities, making it easier for users to create high-quality documents with complex formatting. This update simplifies the process of working with LaTeX by offering in-app PDF generation, direct editing of LaTeX formulas within Canvas documents, and the ability to copy unrendered LaTeX code. This makes Gemini a more powerful tool for professionals and students in academic, scientific, and technical fields.

Organization's logo will appear in the Gemini app next to user's profile picture.

Similar to other Google Workspace service pages, your organization’s logo will now appear next to a user’s profile picture in the Gemini app when they are using their business or education account. This helps users differentiate their work/school account experience from personal accounts in the Gemini app. The logo is only visible if an admin has added one, otherwise 'WORK' or 'EDU' will appear. It is only visible to users within your organization and on the web, not on the Gemini mobile app or gemini.google.com on a mobile device.

Gemini app data is now included under Access Transparency, Access Management, and Access Approvals, providing enhanced admin control and transparency over support-related data access.

Access Transparency, Access Management, and Access Approvals have been extended to cover Gemini App data. These features empower administrators with full visibility into when Google support staff access Gemini App data, precise control over which Google staff members can view this data (e.g., limiting to US or EU staff), and the ability to require explicit approval before Google accesses this data for support purposes. This expansion reinforces Google's commitment to customer data ownership, security, and privacy, complementing existing coverage for other Workspace products like Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Meet.
