The Google Picker API is introducing a new method, setFileIds(fileIds), to the Class DocsView. This allows application developers to present users with a file picker that is pre-navigated to specific file IDs, enabling faster OAuth consent and a more continuous user experience when granting access to specific Drive files.

As part of a revamp to the left navigation experience, Google Chat now includes a dedicated Apps section, enabling users to find and access their Chat apps more efficiently.

Google Chat users can now organize conversations into custom sections.

Google Chat has introduced custom sections in the left-hand menu, allowing users to group direct messages and spaces by topic or project. This update features a unified conversation list, the ability to resize and reorder sections, an unread message toggle for each section, and flexible ways to add conversations via drag-and-drop or the menu. While visible on mobile, management of these sections is limited to the desktop version of Chat.

Google Sheets is enhancing table references with improved availability for table parts, formula suggestions, and formula corrections.

Google Sheets has introduced updates to table references to improve discoverability and usability. Users can now reference specific table components—including full columns (#ALL), headers (#HEADERS), footers (#TOTALS), and data (#DATA)—across both single and multiple columns. Additionally, the update includes formula suggestions to help users identify more robust formula options and formula corrections to automatically suggest proper table references when a formula is written incorrectly.

Automatic framing is now available to all Google Meet users, with improved centering for virtual backgrounds.

Google Meet has expanded automatic framing to all users, which automatically centers participants in the video before joining a meeting to ensure equal visibility. Additionally, the experience for virtual backgrounds has been improved to continuously keep the user centered, preventing distracting reframing while the background is active.
