Google Calendar event color labels are now accessible to users with "Make changes to events" permission.

Google Calendar offers event color labels to help users visually organize meetings on their primary calendar. Previously, these labels were only visible to users with “Make changes to events and manage sharing” permissions. Starting February 27, 2026, this access is being expanded to include users who have only “Make changes to events” permissions, addressing the previous limitation where these users could see colors but not labels.

Google Calendar is expanding the visibility of event color labels. Previously, these labels were only visible to users with 'Make changes to events and manage sharing' permissions. Starting February 27, 2026, users with 'Make changes to events' permissions will also be able to see the labels, facilitating better visual organization and categorization of meetings via Time Insights.

Gemini in Google Calendar now provides improved meeting time suggestions and easier rescheduling.

Google Calendar is enhancing meeting scheduling with Gemini, which analyzes colleagues' availability, time zones, and working hours to suggest optimal meeting times. Additionally, meeting organizers will now see a banner suggesting a new time when multiple attendees decline an invite, allowing for quick rescheduling with a single click.

All secondary calendars owned by a user will be automatically displayed in their Google Calendar list.

Following previous improvements in secondary calendar management, all secondary calendars owned by a user will now be consistently displayed in their Google Calendar list, visible in Calendar settings. This change ensures owners have direct access to manage settings, sharing permissions, and the lifecycle of these calendars. Users can still pin calendars to their main view, delete them, or transfer ownership. A recommendation is to limit ownership to a maximum of 100 calendars per user, with gradual addition for those exceeding this. Users of Apple Calendar may need to manually sync.

Owned secondary calendars are now automatically added to the user's calendar list.

This change provides owners with direct access to manage settings, sharing permissions, and the lifecycle of the calendars they are responsible for. To maintain stability, Google recommends a limit of 100 owned calendars per user. Users integrating with Apple Calendar may need to manually enable synchronization for these calendars.
