Updates to meetings made by a delegate user will now be sent in the name of the principal, ensuring consistent communication.

Previously, when a delegate user managed a principal's Google Calendar, initial invitations appeared from the principal, but subsequent updates or cancellations were sent from the delegate's email. This update ensures that all event-related emails, including cancellations and modifications, will consistently come from the principal, providing a more seamless experience for meeting participants and preventing confusion for guests.

Google Calendar is updating how meeting notifications are handled when a delegate manages a calendar on behalf of another user. Reusing Google Meet codes in new Google Calendar events will tie meeting artifacts exclusively to the original event.

When an existing Google Meet code is manually entered into a new Google Calendar event, all associated meeting artifacts, such as Gemini notes, recordings, and continuous Google Chat conversations, will now be linked solely to the original Calendar event where the code was first generated. This update prevents unintentional sharing with new event guests and provides a clear understanding of who receives meeting-related information, with a warning dialog appearing upon code reuse.

Google Calendar events created via Apple Calendar with Meet codes will now automatically update to use unique Meet codes.

To enhance meeting privacy and ensure unique identification, Google Calendar events initiated through Apple Calendar and including a Google Meet meeting code will now automatically update to utilize a distinct meeting code. This change aims to improve predictability and transparency, and users will be notified via email about this update.
