Starting today, Google Classroom is integrating audio, video, and screencast recording capabilities directly into the platform. This new functionality is designed to help transform teaching and learning through multimodality, improving communication, intake, and retention for learners. Teachers and students (when permitted) will now see a record button to initiate, record, and post audio, video, or screencasts without leaving Classroom. This feature is available in private comments, announcements, posts, assignments, and submissions.

Educators can now use Gemini in Google Classroom to generate and share customized podcast-style audio lessons to support various learning modalities. The feature allows educators to specify the target grade, topic, and learning objectives, as well as customize the audio discussion by choosing the number of speakers and the conversation style, such as an interview or conversational format.
