Studio lighting in Google Meet, powered by Gemini, is now accessible on all devices.

Google Meet's studio lighting feature, which uses machine learning and Gemini to simulate studio-quality lighting by adjusting light position and brightness in video feeds, is now available across all devices. The rollout to Rapid and Scheduled Release domains is complete. It is available for Google Workspace Business Standard and Plus, and Enterprise Standard and Plus.

Automated meeting recordings, transcripts, and "Take notes for me" in Google Meet now support seven additional languages.

Google Meet's automated meeting recording, transcript generation, and "Take notes for me" features, previously only in English, now support French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Meeting artifacts will automatically be generated in the meeting host’s supported language. This feature is rolling out now to Rapid and Scheduled Release domains, with availability varying by Google Workspace edition.

Meeting hosts can control who requests to join meetings ("knocking").

Meeting hosts gain control over who can request to join meetings when the meeting access type is "Trusted" or "Restricted". This is configured via the Calendar invite (Video call options > Host controls) or during the meeting (Host controls). This feature enhances meeting security and minimizes disruptions.

Users can now present content directly from their camera feed in Google Meet.

Google Meet is introducing a new feature that allows users to present content directly from their camera feed during meetings. This enhancement supports various use cases, including streaming produced video content, sharing live feeds from external video sources like microscopes or cameras, and educators presenting paper content via document cameras. The feature supports up to 1080p/30FPS. Furthermore, improvements to screen sharing include faster initiation, sharper video quality, automatic resumption of presentations when a second presenter stops sharing, and a more intuitive user interface for the screen sharing button.
