Expanding data classification labels to now include Gmail.

In addition to Google Drive, we’re expanding data classification labels to now include Gmail. Classification labels are used to classify and audit content according to organizational guidelines (“Sensitive”, “Confidential”, etc.) and apply policies, such as data loss prevention (DLP) rules, to protect sensitive information in email messages.

FedRAMP High authorization for Gemini for Workspace

A FedRAMP High certification assures federal agencies in the United States that a cloud service provides the highest level of protection for their most sensitive data, enabling them to confidently leverage cloud technologies for critical operations.

Gemini for Workspace has submitted for FedRAMP High authorization.

Google has submitted its package to obtain FedRAMP High authorization for Gemini for Workspace, including the Gemini app. This certification ensures that US federal agencies can leverage cloud technologies for critical operations with the highest level of protection for their most sensitive data. The submission is currently pending review by the Joint Authorization Board (JAB) and does not include Data Location at this time.

Apply black & white filter to Google Drive scans on Android devices

Google Drive for Android now allows users to apply a black & white filter to document scans. This feature is designed to enhance text and other critical elements, ensuring they are sharply defined against the background for better clarity.

Reducing noise from unfollowed threads in Google Chat

To help users focus on relevant conversations, Google Chat is removing visual cues from threads that are not followed. New activity in unfollowed threads will no longer be bolded or appear at the top of the conversation list.

AI Classification now supports Field Selection for Model Training

AI Classification now allows customers to select a specific badge or option list field to train a model for after identifying a target label. Once the model is trained and enabled, it will automatically apply the label and populate only the selected field.
