Gmail client-side encryption users can now send end-to-end encrypted emails to any recipient, even if they use a different email provider.
Gmail client-side encryption (CSE) is now generally available, enabling users to send end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) emails to any recipient, regardless of their email provider. Recipients can securely access the encrypted messages via a guest account, simplifying secure communication by eliminating the need for key exchange or specialized software. This feature aims to reduce IT complexity and improve user experience while maintaining strong data sovereignty, privacy, and security controls. This feature is available for Google Workspace Enterprise Plus with the Assured Controls add-on.
