Google Workspace Changes

Docs Live is rolling out to eligible Workspace users of the Google Docs mobile app on Android and iOS, enabling hands-free structured document creation using natural voice conversation.

Docs Live acts as a hands-free thought partner and co-writer that helps users build structured, context-aware documents on the fly using natural conversation. It can reference and pull context from emails, chats, and Drive files to help draft project updates, feature proposals, customer pitches, event plans, talk tracks for presentations, and more. The feature is ON by default for users with Gemini in Docs enabled.

Google Docs now supports native viewing, editing, and real-time collaboration on Markdown (.md/.markdown) files.

Users can open, edit, and comment on Markdown files in Google Docs just like any other document, preserving formatting, tables, headers, and lists without needing to import or convert the file. This enables seamless collaboration with teammates and AI agents while retaining Docs’ real-time editing and commenting tools.
