Client-side encryption gives users direct control over their encryption keys and the identity service that authenticates them, ensuring that Google cannot access audio and video content under any circumstances.

Co-presenters can now view speaker notes when co-presenting Google Slides in Google Meet.

Google Meet now allows co-presenters to view speaker notes while co-presenting a Google Slides presentation. This enables both primary and co-presenters to access the same notes, reducing context switching between Meet and Slides and allowing for more confident delivery. To utilize this feature, co-presenters must have edit access to the Slides presentation.

Gallery view is now supported for Zoom interoperability on Google Meet hardware.

Google Meet hardware devices now support Zoom's Gallery view for interoperability calls, replacing the previous Speaker view as the default layout. This update allows more participants to be seen on screen simultaneously, making better use of the available screen real estate.

Q&A moderation is now available for Google Meet.

Include audio when sharing your screen using Google Meet on mobile

Users of Google Meet on mobile devices can now share audio in addition to their screen share, enabling the sharing of videos with sound or music during presentations. This feature is available immediately on iOS and is scheduled to roll out for Android in mid-August 2023.

Scale meetings to 1,000 attendees for Google Workspace Education Plus

Google Meet's viewer mode is now available for Google Workspace Education Plus customers, allowing them to scale meetings up to 1,000 attendees, with 500 of those attendees acting as viewers.

Polls and Q&A features are now available for Google Meet live streams.
