Star important tasks in Google Tasks
In Google Tasks, you can now mark important tasks with a star. This is similar to functionality that already exists in Drive today. Additionally, you’ll be able to view or sort your starred items across various tasks lists in the new starred view.

Add personal tasks from Google Chat
In Google Chat, you can now create personal tasks from individual or group messages. These will then be viewable by you in Google Tasks, the quick-access side panel, and Google Calendar if the task has a set date.

Google Tasks is getting a new logo to better align with other Google Workspace products.
Google is updating the Google Tasks logo to ensure visual consistency across the Google Workspace product suite. This new logo will automatically appear across the web and on mobile devices for all Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business customers over the coming weeks.

Google Tasks on mobile now features a tabbed UI for easier switching between multiple lists.
Google has updated the Tasks mobile user interface to display multiple lists simultaneously using a tabbed UI. This update allows users to better organize and manage their tasks on mobile by switching between lists either by selecting the list title or swiping left.

Dark mode is now available for Google Tasks on iOS 13.
Google Tasks will now automatically respect the system default setting when it is set to "Dark" on iOS 13. This feature is designed to create a better viewing experience in low-light conditions and help preserve battery life.

Google Tasks launches as a G Suite core service on June 28, 2018.
Google Tasks will launch as a standalone G Suite core service on June 28, 2018. Previously available as a feature of Gmail and Calendar, it will be enabled by default for all domains, though administrators can disable it in the Admin console. As a core service, Tasks will be covered under the existing G Suite agreement, including technical support and service level commitments.

Google is introducing a refreshed Tasks experience on the web and new mobile apps. Users can create tasks and subtasks with due dates and notifications. Tasks integrates with Gmail via drag-and-drop and syncs with Google Calendar.
