This allows users to leverage personalized AI assistance, including custom and pre-made Gems, without switching applications. This integration aims to streamline workflows by minimizing repetitive prompting and enabling tailored content creation, sales interactions, and role-specific assistance directly within Workspace apps.

Google Workspace admins can now access Gemini for Google Workspace audit logs via the Reporting API, Security Investigation Tool, and Audit Investigation Tool.

Google Workspace has introduced new capabilities for administrators to monitor Gemini for Google Workspace usage through audit logs accessible via the Reporting API, the Security Investigation Tool, and the Audit Investigation Tool. These logs provide insights into user actions initiated or assisted by Gemini within various Workspace applications (e.g., Chat, Gmail, Docs), detailing the specific app and features used (e.g., "help me write", "remove image background"). This allows admins to track adoption, understand feature utilization, identify training needs, and pinpoint power users, helping organizations maximize their Gemini investment. Importantly, these logs do not include user-provided prompts or Gemini-generated outputs.

Gemini now supports scheduled actions for personalized updates, reminders, and routine tasks.

Gemini now includes a scheduled actions feature, enabling users to create personalized updates, set reminders, or complete routine tasks in a chat or based on existing prompts. These actions can be set to various frequencies (single, daily, weekly) and used for tasks like daily summaries of calendars/to-do lists, news briefings, competitive landscape monitoring, or vocabulary builders. The rollout to Rapid and Scheduled Release domains is complete, available with a qualifying edition of Google Workspace for Gemini on the web and mobile and in all supported languages for users 18+.

Imagen 4 is now available in Google Docs, Slides, and Vids for image generation with multilingual support.

Users can now leverage Imagen 4, Google's highest quality image generation model, within Google Docs, Slides, and Vids. This update provides outstanding text rendering, improved prompt adherence, higher overall image quality across various styles, and supports multilingual prompts in over 20 languages.

Gemini in Workspace access extended to users on other qualifying Workspace plans through Google AI Ultra for Business.

While users on Business or Enterprise Standard and Plus plans already have access to Gemini in Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, Google AI Ultra for Business now provides access to most of these features for users on other qualifying Workspace plans. This allows a broader range of Workspace users to leverage Gemini's AI capabilities within their daily productivity tools.

The Google AI Ultra for Business add-on extends access to Gemini in Workspace for users on various qualifying Workspace plans. While users on Business or Enterprise Standard and Plus plans already have these features, the add-on now allows users on other plans to access most of Gemini's capabilities within Google Workspace applications such as Gmail, Docs, and Sheets. This broadens the availability of AI-powered assistance across the Workspace ecosystem.

References to Gemini add-ons are being removed from the Admin console Subscriptions page for Workspace Business and Enterprise customers.

Google is removing references to Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Business, AI Meetings & Messages, and AI Security add-ons from the Subscriptions page within the Admin console (Menu > Billing > Subscriptions). This change applies to customers whose Workspace edition now includes all functionality previously available with these add-ons, meaning these add-ons are no longer needed. This update will not cause any disruption in service, changes in feature availability, or affect your bill.

Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise add-ons are no longer offered for sale.

As of January 15, 2025, Google has ceased offering the Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise add-ons for sale. Customers who previously purchased these add-ons will still retain access to features.
